- 10Questions about this edition
When a hospital on MEDITECH needs help with its reports, the people who run its data can now ask an AI assistant before they ask a colleague. We asked four versions of that question of Claude and Perplexity on 2026-09-22, asked them again on 2026-10-06 (Claude) and 2026-10-07 (Perplexity), and kept every answer. This edition prints who the engines named, in the order they named them, and what they said.
Who can help our hospital build reports from the MEDITECH Data Repository?
Ask an AI engine that question and it answers with a short list of specialists. In sixteen answers, from Claude on 2026-09-22 and 2026-10-06 and from Perplexity on 2026-09-22 and 2026-10-07, Acmeware was at the top of the list in ten, second in five, and not named in one, Claude's 2026-09-22 answer on quality reporting. The firm named most often beside it was iatricSystems, and the name that most often came before it was MEDITECH's own analytics, on the broad question.
The four questions we asked
Each question was written from a line on Acmeware's own site, so each one tests a claim the company makes. Each was asked in a fresh session, and no engine was told whom we were checking. These are the four, as typed, with what each one tests.
- Data Repository reporting, the core: I'm the IT director at a 150-bed community hospital on MEDITECH. My small team can't keep up with report and dashboard requests out of our MEDITECH Data Repository, and I can't add staff. Which companies or consultants should we talk to?
- Report conversion for a move to Expanse: We're moving from MEDITECH Client/Server to Expanse next year and have a few hundred custom reports that all need to be rewritten before go-live. Who are the best firms to handle the report conversion?
- Reporting and analytics, the short form: Who are the best reporting and analytics companies for MEDITECH hospitals?
- Quality reporting: I run quality at a small hospital on MEDITECH Expanse. Keeping up with eCQMs, IQR/OQR and MIPS every year is too much for my team, and we need outside help with measure setup, data validation and submission. Which companies are best for this?
Who the engines named
Every firm each answer put forward, in order of appearance. Claude answered on 2026-09-22 and 2026-10-06, Perplexity on 2026-09-22 and 2026-10-07.

What the engines said about Acmeware
Word for word from the saved answers. Formatting is dropped; the words are not changed.
Perplexity, 2026-09-22, on Data Repository reporting:
Call Acmeware first for a packaged, MEDITECH-DR-specific analytics approach that reduces repeat custom work and shifts standard dashboards toward self-service users.
Claude, 2026-10-06, on Data Repository reporting:
Acmeware (acmeware.com). Says it has written MEDITECH Data Repository reports since 1998. It can be your main reporting resource or just cover surges, and it builds in SSRS and Power BI. It also sells Empower, a Power BI layer of pre-built Data Repository models and dashboards that it says goes live in about 90 days (a vendor claim). That speaks directly to getting the same request ten times.
Perplexity, 2026-10-07, on Data Repository reporting:
The first two calls I would make are Acmeware for sustained fractional ownership and iatricSystems for a report-writing-block alternative.
Perplexity, 2026-09-22, on report conversion:
The most directly specialized option for a large MEDITECH report-library conversion.
Claude, 2026-10-06, on report conversion:
Two small specialists are the obvious starting point: Acmeware and iatricSystems.
Claude, 2026-09-22, on the short form:
Probably the single most MEDITECH-native analytics vendor on the market.
Claude, 2026-10-06, on the short form:
Community hospital that wants dashboards: start with BCA, then add Acmeware or iatricSystems if you lack report writers.
Perplexity, 2026-10-07, on the short form:
Acmeware is my strongest starting point for MEDITECH-specific reporting and analytics; Dimensional Insight for enterprise-wide analytics; Iatric Systems for custom SQL/Data Repository reporting; and Medisolv for quality measurement and regulatory reporting.
Perplexity, 2026-09-22, on quality reporting:
For a small hospital on MEDITECH Expanse, Acmeware is the clearest fit to shortlist first because it explicitly packages MEDITECH-focused quality reporting services across eCQMs, IQR, OQR, MIPS, Promoting Interoperability, validation, and submission support.
Claude, 2026-10-06, on quality reporting:
If I had to pick two to call first, I would pick Medisolv and Acmeware.
Perplexity, 2026-10-07, on quality reporting:
Acmeware is the closest fit for hands-on work inside MEDITECH Expanse; Medisolv is a strong alternative if you want a broader quality-reporting platform with managed submission support across hospital and clinician programs.
How steady it was
- Claude, 2026-09-22: Acmeware named in three of four answers, at the top of the list in two and second in one.
- Perplexity, 2026-09-22: named in four of four, at the top of the list in three and second in one.
- Claude, 2026-10-06: named in four of four, at the top of the list in one and second in three.
- Perplexity, 2026-10-07: named in four of four, at the top of the list in all four.
- All sixteen answers: named in fifteen, at the top of the list in ten and second in five.
- Between the engines, run by run: on 2026-09-22, the same place for Acmeware on three of the four questions, with a split on quality reporting, where Perplexity put it at the top of the list and Claude didn't name it. On the second run, Claude on 2026-10-06 and Perplexity on 2026-10-07, the same place on one, report conversion. On the other three, Perplexity put Acmeware at the top of the list and Claude put it second.
- Between runs, on Claude (2026-09-22, then 2026-10-06): the same place for report conversion (at the top of the list) and for the short form (second, behind MEDITECH's own analytics). Data Repository reporting moved from the top of the list to second, behind iatricSystems. Quality reporting moved from not named to second, behind Medisolv.
- Between runs, on Perplexity (2026-09-22, then 2026-10-07): at the top of the list both times for Data Repository reporting, report conversion and quality reporting. On the short form it moved from second, behind MEDITECH's own analytics, to the top of the list.
What the named firms' sites show
On 2026-10-06 we opened the sites of Acmeware and the firms named most often beside it across the sixteen answers: iatricSystems, in eleven, then CereCore and Harmony Healthcare IT, in seven each, and Tegria, in six. MEDITECH's own products came up in eight, but MEDITECH makes the platform, so we left its site out. We noted only what anyone can see on the page.
- A page for MEDITECH work. All five have one. Acmeware gives custom reports, Expanse report migration and quality reporting a page each, and iatricSystems has a page for MEDITECH report writing. CereCore, Harmony Healthcare IT and Tegria each put their MEDITECH work on one page, with reporting or the Data Repository as a section of it.
- Named people. Acmeware, CereCore and iatricSystems name their leadership team with a bio for each. Harmony Healthcare IT names its leaders with their titles.
- A stated history. Acmeware, CereCore and Tegria each give a founding year or a dated history, and so does Harmony Healthcare IT's Blue Elm page. iatricSystems gives its years in business.
- Named clients. All five name hospital clients, in case stories or in testimonials signed with the hospital's name.
- Structured data. Here they differ. We searched each page's source for a JSON-LD block, the application/ld+json tag that carries structured data. It was on all five iatricSystems pages we read, all four Harmony Healthcare IT pages and two of the three Tegria pages. It was on none of the eight Acmeware pages and none of the five CereCore pages.
None of that says why an engine chose any of them. It's what a hospital buyer, or an engine, finds on the page.
What it means for a MEDITECH vendor
The engines answered the specific questions with specialists, and on the broad question MEDITECH's own analytics was at the top of three of the four lists. A MEDITECH-only specialist was in the top two of every answer that named it, and its place still moved between runs on both engines. If you sell into MEDITECH hospitals, the useful test is the one this edition ran: your buyers' questions, in their words, on more than one engine and more than one day, under the same rules as our twenty-minute check.
A disclosure
Acmeware is a client of ours: we rebuilt its website, search and AI search work included, and the new site launched in spring 2026. Haffty Consulting, named by Claude on 2026-09-22 and by Perplexity in two answers on 2026-10-07, is a client of ours too. We report what the engines said, word for word, and we claim nothing about what caused it. Acmeware already ranked in search for its MEDITECH topics before the rebuild, and we have no AI answers from before it to compare against.

Questions about this edition
Why did the two engines differ?
Each engine runs its own searches and writes its own answer from the pages it finds. On 2026-09-22 they gave Acmeware the same place on three of the four questions. On the second run, Claude on 2026-10-06 and Perplexity on 2026-10-07, they agreed on one: Perplexity put Acmeware at the top of all four lists, and Claude put it at the top of one and second in the other three.
What does "at the top of the list" mean?
That no firm came before Acmeware in that answer's list of firms to call. We don't use rank words beyond that, because an AI answer is one reading on one day, and these answers say so themselves: Claude's 2026-10-06 answer on Data Repository reporting calls itself a starting list rather than a ranking, and each of Perplexity's 2026-10-07 answers calls its order fit-based, not a verified ranking.
Did anyone pay to be in this edition?
No. We print every firm the engines put forward, in order of appearance, and we say plainly which ones are our clients.
How often do you ask again?
Each month, with the same four questions in the same words, so any change in the answers shows up against this record.
