The summary

What we did, and what it moved.

Working with Knight MacKay Morrow's COO, UPWARD rebuilt the firm's digital presence from strategy up: a full storytelling pass on its approach to litigation, a modern premium design, and a CMS connecting attorneys, practice areas, offices, publishing and job postings. The firm now updates its own site in minutes, where every change once meant depending on someone else, and it launched with two films.

The firm

Stature that is obvious the moment you meet them

Knight MacKay Morrow is a premium litigation firm with offices across the country: complex matters, large corporate clients, and a reputation for handling what others can't. The kind of firm whose stature is obvious the moment you meet them.

Knight MacKay Morrow: the work

The mismatch

The firm had the caliber. The site worked against it.

Their website was not that moment. It lacked the aesthetics, the functionality, and the storytelling to carry the firm's caliber, and before UPWARD, keeping it current meant depending on someone else for every change. For a firm being evaluated by discerning corporate clients, the site was working against the record.

Why UPWARD

The case made before the first meeting

Discerning corporate clients feel Knight MacKay Morrow's stature the moment they meet the firm in person. The website had to carry that same weight before the first meeting ever happened. Working with the firm's COO, UPWARD took on the story and the system together: the firm's ethos and its strategic approach to litigation, and the CMS behind its attorneys, practice areas, offices, publishing and job postings. A firm judged on its record needed a site that makes that case on its own.

The work

The partner behind the site, not a gatekeeper in front of it

Working closely with the firm's COO, we rebuilt the digital presence from strategy up: a full storytelling pass that communicates the firm's ethos and strategic approach to litigation, woven through every page of a modern, premium design.

Underneath it, we architected a CMS that handles their world: attorneys, paralegals, practice areas, office locations, publishing, and job postings, all interconnected. The firm now updates its own site in minutes, with UPWARD as the partner behind it rather than a gatekeeper in front of it.

For launch, we produced films: an internal announcement featuring the COO for the whole firm, and a LinkedIn launch video for the market. A website launch treated like the strategic event it actually was.

The partnership

The firm holds its own keys

Knight MacKay Morrow is one of UPWARD's longest-running partnerships: continuous stewardship and content, with the firm holding its own keys.
